Hair Update!
I went to the store last night and bought some Elasta QP Mango Butter Conditioner. I put it on my ends last night and wrapped as usual. This morning my ends were SO soft. I am VERY pleased. Yesterday and today, I am wearing my hair in a protective style. Up in a clip and away from my face. I'll probably continue this until I wash my hair on Sunday. I plan to do my first rollerset. LOL! This is gonna be funny. I'll have D take pictures.
Uh, not much else to write about. I'm hungry, my tummy is growling, I have on the cutest damn shoes today and I need an oil change. LOL!

Brothas...get it together!
Anyway, he hangs up with the girl and comes over to me.
Frodo: Hey, I just had to come over and speak to you. What's your name?
Me: *thinking: No, he didn't just get off the phone with some chick and then come try to holla at me* I'm Monie.
Frodo: Hi, how you doing, Monie? I'm Eric.
Me: Hi, nice to meet you.
Frodo: You reading a book for class?
Me: No, it's for my bookclub.
Frodo: Oh, a bookclub? You're all smart and stuff, I see.
Me: *blank stare* (I thought being in a bookclub simply meant that I could read and enjoyed discussing my readings with other people)
Frodo: Well, I came over to see if maybe I could take you out someti...
Me: I'm sorry, I have a boyfriend.
Frodo: I'm not trying to get to know your boyfriend.
Now, I have blogged about this before but I cannot get over just how rude some of these ninjas can be! In my opinion, if you approach me and upon hearing I have a boyfriend, you proceed to disrespect my relationship...that tells me you are only interested in what's in my panty-drawls. And last time I checked, I wasn't a hoe so...
Me: We live together and I am very happy. (I hate having to explain myself. I need a better comeback. Something rude but nice LOL)
Frodo: Aw, ok. You sure? We could have a good time.
Me: Yeah, I'm sure. It was nice meeting you though.
Blahhhhhhhh...I'm so glad I'm in a relationship. I couldn't imagine dating if these are the types of lame-o's that I'd have to be subjected to.

Operation Hair Growth
Picture taken this morning, 7:42 am. Please, PLEASE ignore the racerback tank and the bra straps...it all came together in the end. LOLMoving on...I am on a mission to see how long I can grow my hair. Like many women I know, when we were little we all had the long, thick, natural hair that Momma used to spend hours washing, combing, braiding, hot combing, etc. I didn't get a relaxer until I was 14. I've heard a lot of horror stories about relaxers but thankfully they don't apply to me. Even with my relaxed hair, it was still pretty healthy, long and full. I usually like for my hair to be at about shoulder length. It's just easier for me to manage and maintain. Yet, a few months ago, I'm getting my hair done and my friend says she can't believe how long my hair has grown. I look in the mirror and am shocked. My hair was down my back. And...I liked it. I liked it a lot. LOL Unfortunately, my friend is a bit scissor happy and she chopped all that new length off.
I attempted growing my relaxer out and going natural. At about 9 weeks without a relaxer, my hair sent me a text message like..."Bitch, is you crazy?!" LMAO!
When I got my hair done every two weeks, it grew like a weed. But to be honest, I don't really take care of it like I should. I go to sleep without wrapping it, it stays in a dry ass ponytail...just straight dogging my tresses. LOL Even with all the abuse, it still stays pretty healthy. That's why I really want to try to see how long I can grow it.
I will take pictures every 3 months to track my progress. Here is the regime that I plan to follow, washing my hair every 7 days or so (fine-tuning as I go along to see what works and what doesn't):
1) Prepoo. I wasn't hip to this whole prepooing thing but it seems like it could be the business. One of my biggest problems is how dry my hair can get. I'm trying this to see if it helps.
2) Shampoo. Taking care to wash only my roots. I've read that shampoo really dries out your ends and I know rubbing my hair all over my head leads to breakage.
3) Condition. I plan to let the conditioner sit in my hair under a hot towel for about 15 minutes and then rinsing it out completely. My hair does not like leave-in conditioners (none that I've tried) so I won't be using any. I have to remember not to towel dry my hair and just squeeze the water out.
4) Rollerset. I had never had this done until the last time I got my hair done. My hair turned out beautifully! It was bouncy and shiny. I'm trying this now to see how my hair reacts to it long-term.
5) Saran Wrap Treatment. I had heard about this process made famous by Dominican hairstylists but got a full tutorial courtesy of Macherieamour (see Healthy Hair! on my blogroll). I'm willing to try it to see how it works. I will look crazy as hell, I'm sure, but hopefully I'll get some good results.
6) Wrap. Basic hair care 101 for Black women. I have a hard time (read: I'm lazy as hell) being consistent with wrapping my hair at night but now I have a reason to. I also plan to wrap it as soon as I get home from work and/or class. I figure the longer it's down, the more damage it is sustaining due to it rubbing against my clothes, D pulling on it (lmaooo - kidding!), etc.
I will be using the following products:
KeraCare Moisturizing Shampoo
KeraCare Moisturizing Conditioner
KeraCare Conditioning Creme Hairdress
KeraCare Moisturizer with Jojoba Oil
KeraCare Foam Wrap-Set Lotion
KeraCare Humecto Creme Conditioner
Notice a theme? LOL I'm using KeraCare because that is what my friend has been using on my hair. I have proof that my hair loves it.
Wish me luck on this hair journey. Hopefully, I won't get too frustrated and quit. LOL If you have any tips (especially on the baggy method because I am dying to understand what that shit is), please leave them in my comments.

Quick Post
Flag football was SO MUCH FUN! I had a fucking blast and I can't wait til we play again on Saturday. I played the entire 40 minutes and was not that tired at all. I probably looked like a homeless person with everything that I had on (it was COLD!) LOL.
I am being pressured to take pictures of myself in my "uniform" in addition to some action flicks so I'll try to see about doing that and posting them.
Hope everyone's weekend was good. Hugs and kisses! Later!

Vacation Details
Anyway, we went to MIAMI!
We have been to Florida before but we went to Orlando and drove to Daytona Beach for a day. We were going to try to make it to Miami but it was raining cats, dogs, horses, all that.
So, this time we got to go.
I love the city, I really do...but Miami is...interesting to say the least. At some points I felt like I was in a different country. Not just because of the Spanish because I can deal with that...it's just everything we encountered while there.
Details: We stayed at the Radisson Hotel in Downtown Miami. Don't stay there. It's kinda hood. Which is not all that bad but to go into the Burger King across the street on random days at random times and witness somebody being cussed out loudly EVERY TIME...yeah...
The lobby of this hotel is GORGEOUS. And the outdoor pool with a view of the city...fucking tight. But don't let that fool you cause the closet door in our room was coming off the hinges. I tried to get an upgrade to a suite but it was becoming too much of a hassle so we just stayed in the room we had. Oh yeah, room service is AWFUL and expensive as hell. I will eat anything but I didn't wanna eat that shit.
While there, we visited Bayside Market which was cool. We got to do a little shopping and people watching. The one thing that I did notice...I saw some of the most beautiful women I have ever seen in my life in Miami. All different shapes, colors, sizes. I know D's ass was in heaven. And some Miami women DO NOT GIVE A FUCK. They can have a couple rolls here and a bulge or ten there and they will show that shit off with pride. Me and D started playing a game called "Tits, Gut or Butt". Each woman we saw was guaranteed to have a huge version of one, two or all three of these things.
We also visited Nocturnal Nightclub while we were there. It's clear that when Miami women go out, they go OUT. High heels, booty shorts, body hugging dresses...I'm sounding real lesbo right now LOL but it's not EVEN like that. Like I said...I saw some of the most beautiful women in the world there. I'm not talking about the men much because they weren't that impressive. I didn't see one piece of eye candy the whole time we were there. As far as the club...wack. $20 to get in for each of us, $13 for a shot of Henny, music from at least 4 years ago. I think D and I danced to maybe...two songs. And those were reggae songs. You can always dance to that shit...even if it's from 20 years ago. Needless to say, we didn't stay there long.
We went to South Beach while we were there. My shoulders are still tender and burned. We played in the water for a while. That was cool.
Unfortunately, I was sick for most of the morning of D's birthday but we did get to do the big surprise I had planned for him. It almost didn't work out and we didn't get to go on the sunset tour like I wanted but...we flew a private plane over Miami at night. Because we didn't do the sunset tour, we couldn't get a lot of good pictures but seeing Miami at night was...crazy. We flew over Shaq's and Madonna's house. The pilot even let D do the takeoff. It was very romantic and I think D enjoyed it. He was a little nauseous (LMAO) being in that small plane but it was good times.
I still have not recovered from my little vacation...I think I need next week off. LOL I'll try to post some pictures later. Adios!!!

September 11, 2001
I can remember exact details...even what I was wearing and how my hair was styled that day.
I was working as a receptionist for a commercial flooring company. I had just finished eating a chocolate chip muffin and was trying to hurry and get through some work before I left for the day. I had a doctor's appointment later that morning so I took the rest of the day off.
I was opening the mail when an employee's wife called and told me to cut on a TV. She said a pilot had just made a mistake and flew his plane into one of the World Trade Center towers. I was shocked but had no idea just how serious it was to become...
I went into the conference room and cut on the small color TV. Of course, this was all over the news by then and reports were that it was just a fatal, tragic accident. And then the second plane went into the second tower. Everything changed at that moment. Within minutes, the conference room was full. Everyone sat with their mouths hanging open, shocked at what we were all witnessing. I sat there for maybe an hour, watching the news and feeling like I was on a different planet. This could actually happen...in America?!
It was time for me to leave for my doctor's appointment so I left work reluctantly. At this point, it was around noon...the time when everyone in the area where I worked bombarded the restaurants for the lunch rush. Yet, I pulled out of the parking lot and there was not one car on the street. I got on the highway and it was COMPLETELY empty. My car was the only car on a major highway, during a weekday, at noon. It was SO eerie.
I got a call from my doctor's office while I was driving. They asked if they could reschedule my appointment for another time due to what had happened. I agreed and went home. My mom and my sister were there and we sat and watched the news for the rest of the day. Still in shock and disbelief and what had happened.
I visited the World Trade Center site for the first time last year. It's all fenced up and it's a little hard to see anything but my friends and I all said we just felt "different" standing there and seeing it.
God bless the families, friends and loved ones of those were were lost in this senseless tragedy.
We will never forget.

BOYS!
I should hate Chris Leak. He was the QB for the Florida Gators. The same ones that beat my Ohio State Buckeyes. I want to hate him. I really do. But I'd like to kiss him instead. Mmmm...
D and I went to the Cleveland Indians game on Friday. My BF has been raving over Grady Sizemore forever but I didn't know what she was on til I saw him in person. He's sexy as hell and that smile...YUM!
I have a very unnatural obsession with LeBron. He's not the *cutest* dude, per se...but I fucking love this man. I want to have all his long-legged babies. Well...besides the two his wifey has already. I met him once. At the movies. My friends were acting brand new like they didn't want his autograph. Fuuuuck that, I went right over digging in my purse for a pen. He was very nice. Tall and sexy and beautiful. I didn't have a pen in my purse (GAHHHH!) and he said he had to go because the movie was about to start so alas...I didn't get his autograph. Next time, lover....next time...
Matt Barnes (left) plays for the Golden State Warriors. He's skinny and scraggly and rocked a retarded ass mohawk this past season...ooh but I LOVE him!
Okay, he's not a sports boy but this little weird muthafucka could GET IT! This is Travis from Gym Class Heroes. Don't really listen to their music but I hear it's pretty decent. No matter, this boy...love him.Gah, dammit. I have a meeting now. Maybe I'll post more boys later. Later yall...
Wait, wait! Updates: My mom and sister went to visit my uncle in the hospital this past weekend. I didn't go as I'm fighting hard as hell to beat this cold before my trip. Mom says that my Uncle is doing MUCH better. Gaining weight, up and moving around, he was cracking jokes and singing songs with them...I was so ECSTATIC to hear that.
Also...got my letter in the mail on Saturday. I was accepted to Baldwin.Wallace.College for Spring Semester 2008. Goodbye sucky CSU, hellloooo quality education! Yay me!
Okay, going for real. Bye!
