Sorry

As soon as I post this, I will be going to yesterday's post and taking down the button leading to my Amazon wish list. Clicking there I saw that it reveals my real name and while some of you already know it...due to something that happened today, I really don't want that info out there. It might be a little too late but you never know.

Please Be Careful

This post today is especially for the ladies. Even though the media coverage was lacking (and that's a whole 'nother post) I'm sure that most of you have heard of Nailah Franklin.
She was a young, black professional woman living in Chicago who went missing on September 18th of this year. Her body was found about a week later. She had recently filed for an order of protection against a man she used to date after receiving harassing text messages and emails from him. While the police still consider him a "person of interest", he was questioned and released. Those of you who have been keeping up with the story know all of this and are probably wondering why I'm talking about it a whole month later. Well, I know of this man...have even actually met him once. He is the father of my good friend's daughter. When Nailah's body was discovered, a few days later, I got a text from this friend telling me to read Page 5 of the Chicago newspaper. She said that "the man" they were talking about in the story was the father of her child. Needless to say, I was shocked! I wanted to talk to my friend to get the details and make sure she was ok. But the text she sent implied that she needed some time to process everything.
I just talked to her yesterday and she's doing fine. However, the father of her child and the man most people suspect had something to do with Nailah's demise is still running the streets. She gave me the whole story about what happened between herself and this man. She even forwarded me emails between herself and this man, and between her and Nailah. It was just a crazy, crazy mess and even now she's living in fear about something happening to her or her family. He has already shot up her house as well as throwing a brick through the front window. He's threatened her, her family and sent some very eerie text messages referencing Nailah's death. Of course, my friend is in constant contact with the police and they are aware of everything.

Ladies, I'm saying all this to say...please, PLEASE be careful of who you spend your time with. Nailah and my friend were very trusting of this man. But only to the point that any of us would be. And that's what's scary. From what I could see when I met him and what my friend told me, he's very smooth and a slick talker. He was doing well for himself (he had a Bentley and bought my friend a Lexus) but ultimately it turned out to be a total illusion. He has so many people wrapped up in his web of deceit, everything he has built up is falling down around him. He is truly a sociopath in every sense of the word.

It takes nothing to do a quick Google check on someone. It takes nothing to send your friends and family a quick text letting them know where you will be if you are out with someone new. Please just BE CAREFUL. Love yall...have a good rest of the day!

Boys

D and I went to the Cavs pre-season game last night. As you can see they played Detroit (see Skeletor aka Tayshaun Prince) and they won.
But what you really need to focus on is that lovely, handsome beast of a man...LeBron James. Look at that booty...look at those arms. *sigh* I heart him SO much. I'll get to go to a few games this season...thanks to *insert job name here* I'll have the bomb seats. Last night I could practically smell LeBron's deoderant. LOL!
Braylon Edwards came to the game last night (why? It's the pre-season, dude.). He is so unbelievably hot. Kinda shortish and skinny but he could get it regardless. Yummmmm! I tried to get a picture of him but he came in while they were throwing t-shirts into the crowd. Couldn't get a good shot...especially not with my shitty phone.
Savannah (LeBron's girlfriend) was also at the game. I cannot hate on her...she is a really pretty girl. Every time I see her at a game, she is always put together. Yesterday, she was rocking jeans and a tannish cropped sweater with a black tank underneath. Black Chanel purse and black and tan print Christian Louboutin pumps. It was really cute. Go 'head girl.
Okay, meeting in 10 minutes. *blah* Have a good weekend, everyone!

?????

I don't understand make-up sex. Maybe it's because I'm a Scorpio and my temper is out of control. But noooo...cause they say Scorpios are super freaks so it shouldn't matter, right?
How am I supposed to switch my brain from wanting to fight you to wanting to...fuck you? Personally, it takes me a few days to stop daydreaming about cutting the brake line on your car. I can't go from mad to horny just like that. Am I weird?

Enough gotdammit!

I swear to goodness, the people of my city are losing their minds! If I hear one more thing about LeBron wearing a Yankees fitted to the game, I am going to scream.

First of all, who the fuck cares?! Has everyone forgotten exactly who LeBron is? He's done more for Cleveland sports than anyone since...ANYONE! Attendance at Cavs homes games before LeBron: 14 (including arena employees). Attendance after LeBron: 20,000 or however many asses it takes to fill every seat there!

I am on cleveland.com and these are some of the comments:

"I am done with LeBron after seeing him rooting for the Yankees and wearing their cap at the Indians game. That is the most tastless, classless thing I have ever seen by a sports celebrity. LeBron, Cleveland is supposed to be your town, so why are you not supporting your hometown teams? How would you feel if some of the top Indians players showed up to your playoff game rooting for the other team and hoping you lose? Grow up."

"Thanks, LeBron, for being so supportive of the town that treats you like a god.
You've saved me hundreds of dollars I was going to spend on cavs tickets for next season.
GO SPURS!
"

Really? REALLY? What has this world come to where a man in America cannot root for whatever team he wants to? What has this world come to where a hat that someone is wearing is front page news while the story of however many soldiers died in Iraq gets put on the 5th page?

To me, this show that LeBron is loyal to his favorite team no matter what these fair-weather fans think. He has loved the Yankees since day one...should he change his loyalty now that he plays in Cleveland? In my opinion, the only reaction this should have received was maybe a chuckle at first and then maybe a good laugh when LeBron turned his hat backwards as the Yankees got their asses handed to them last night.

All I have to say is this. FINALLY, Cleveland has something to brag about. We have on our team one of the greatest players that has ever set foot on a basketball court. There is no need to kiss his ass about this but instead of flipping the hell out because of what hat he chooses to wear, because of what team he chooses to root for, because he hasn't married the mother of his children, etc. etc. how about sitting your asses down somewhere and cooling out! Unless LeBron has killed your mother or ran over your puppy, why do you CARE so much? You don't wanna go to any more Cavs games? Fine, lemme give you my address so you can send me your tickets. The last thing we want to do is run the best thing that has happened to Cleveland out of this town.

As an aside, I was at the game last night. That was some EXCITING shit! But that was to be expected because the Indians haven't been to the postseason since 2001.
I usually sit down by the Indians dugout (courtesy of my job being season ticket holders) but last night I was up in the stands. Those are REAL fans up there. I have never high-fived random strangers so much in my life. My throat was sore this morning from all the "WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"'ing I was doing. In addition to the "YAN-KEES SUCK!!!!" chant and the lovely "STEEEEEERR-OIIIIIIIIDS" when Giambi stepped up to bat. It was a good time and much needed due to recent events. Speaking of that, thanks for all the comments regarding my uncle. If I could come through this screen and hug all of you, I would.

Welp, I am off to BW3 to have a couple ten cocktails and watch the game with my girls. Have a great weekend, everyone. And if you are a government employee enjoy this Monday off! I know I will!

Anthony L. Murphy 1960 - 2007

He passed away a little before 10 pm on Friday. The nurses at the hospice said he was very peaceful. My grandmother was on her way back to be with him but didn't make it in time. She said he probably would have wanted it that way.
I want to thank ALL of you for your prayers and well wishes. Me and my family are extremely sad but we have all been able to say that we also feel a huge sense of relief. My uncle was not the type of guy that liked to be sick so for him to be gone from this world and out of pain is such a blessing. We were so, so lucky to have him as long as we did and we thank God for that.
