These are all just random pictures that I have in my phone right now. See how crazy my brain is? They all have a meaning and they are all funny as hell. In their own special way.
Anyway, that's all I got. LOL! Task: Post 5 random pictures from your phone. And if you don't have a camera phone, you're wack. Have a good weekend!!!

Randomosity

"Ay, how my hurr look?"
"You look good, girl."
POP!
Damn. I wasn't expecting that AT ALL!

Whore treachery is my new shit. Imma have all my friends saying it within two weeks, tops.

It's really hard to work for someone for whom you have NO respect.

I don't think I could do this diet successfully had I not done the Master Cleanse. That shit changed my whole mentality about hunger and food.

When I have 6 pack abs, Imma post a pic on here for all the world to see. Fuck that, this is about to be some hard work! I deserve some bragging rights.

I sorta fell off on my hair care regimen. As evidenced by the recent hair cut I had to get. *sigh* Imma get this shit together.

I cooked some baked chicken last night for lunch today. It's gonna be GOOD and I can't wait!

I really want an Ipod but those shits are expensive! Or am I just being cheap?

As much as I stan for LeBron...I really don't like how he was bitching about the trade the Cavs made. Way to make the new guys feel welcome, 'Bron. Jeez. You KNOW they did that shit to try and keep your ass in Cleveland. Be grateful.

There was a lady working out last night in some Mom jeans. Why?

Once I move out and I'm living alone...I am gonna be broke as shit! No more buying shoes, clothes, purses just because I like em. That's gonna SUCK!

I bought The Beyonce Experience Live DVD. I keep hearing that her male dancers make broads wanna hump the TV. We shall see tonight...

If I still attended Cleveland State, I'd be AMPED that classes were cancelled tonight because of the debate.

Try and tell me my nephew ain't cute.

Can't do it, can you?

I'm feeling slightly "eclectik-y" right now with this Random list.

I hope Diva doesn't think that I've forgotten that she was supposed to email me back. Mm. I ain't forgot, girl. = )

I have about 12 pairs of shoes in my office at the current moment.

I have quite a hike from our parking garage to my office building. Walking that in heels is NOT the business.

Stop coming in my office, dude.

Why am I really curious to see what Millz looks like but she doesn't have a photo posted on her bloggie?

SBC better get her ass back round here. Sha-Boog too!

Can someone explain to me how ancestry DNA testing works? I swear I'm smart but I don't get it. Wouldn't you need your DNA and the DNA of your ancestor? Or no...?

I want to go see Katt Williams but I don't want to pay $70 to hear some recycled jokes. Will he have new material?

I gave blood the other day. My blood type is A positive.

I have been itching to go somewhere. I'll be in Chicago in the middle of April and Virginia Beach the weekend before that. Then I'll be in NY in May.

I'm still down for a Meet N Greet but I think some people are wary. For good reason. LOL! I probably need to start off slow by meeting people in my area first. Oh! SBC, get back to me about sushi!

Work's piling up. Gotta go!

Idiots. LOL!

Four, though?! BWHAHAHAHAHAAA!
Ooh! I dare Karrie B to rock this look out in public and take pics. She's SO fly, she could pull it off and I know how she loves being a picture whore. LOL!

I SUCK at Guitar Hero. Sometimes, it is this serious. LOL!

Ha! They shoulda never gave yall nakkas money!

Oh nooooooooooooooo....LOL!

This one kilt me! LOL! And I don't know why! LOL!

WIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!

Nintendo has debuted the Wii Racing Wheel that will be sold with the Mario Kart game. I've heard that it's already selling in some video game stores and I'm assuming you can use it for other games as well...

How damn cute is this?

I'm into video games so this was exciting news for me. It really got out of hand for a moment, though. D rented Mass Effect for me and I played that shit like a crackhead. I'm talking 13 hours straight some days. I dig RPG's so I was way into this shit. I made my character have hot monkey sex with another character and all that! Needless to say, I beat the game within a matter of about two weeks and I am feigning like a muthasucka. They are developing Mass Effect 2 and I CANNOT. WAIT.

I'm sooooooooo sleepy. I'll holla later. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz...

Now for the Valentine's Day photos. Here are just a few:

The Red Room. Ooh-la-la!

THE RECKONING

The above is a photo of me in 1998. I had just graduated high school and off to college I went. Called myself doing some modeling. Ha!

Anyway, at this time I weighed around 120. Plus or minus a few pounds. And I'm 5'7 so you can imagine the gangly giraffeness of what I was working with. I really didn't like being this weight. My legs were like twigs. I had no ass, breasts or hips to speak of. I felt frail as hell. The only good thing about it was my flat belly.

Now, in 2008, I am 167 pounds. I've gained almost 50 pounds in 10 years. Which is not that bad...considering all the fucked up shit that I eat and all the working out I don't do. I definitely feel more solid. Boobies? Check. Hips? Sorta check. Ass? Hey now. Gut? Ummm... Chubby face? Errr....

I call this The Reckoning because it's starting to go past solid into...ew. It's time to nip this shit in the bud. Starting February 25, 2008 I am taking part in a 3 month program with my job called Shape.Up.The.Nation. My Ohio team (I'm team captain!) is competing against all our other sites for money and prizes. We are tracking our weight, hours worked out per week and steps taken per day. At the same time I am doing this program, I will be doing the Fat.Smash.Diet (Celebrity.Fit.Club - Dr. Ian). My target weight is 130-135 pounds. According to the powers that be, this is the healthiest weight for me. I have 37 pounds to lose. Shit...that sounds like a lot. LOL!

Because I'm team captain, I can't do my usual and slack off. I have 10 other people counting on me to lead them. I'm super excited! Better believe that I'll be giving updates. Wish me luck!

Okay, about to watch the debate now. I'm out!

***BREAKING NEWS***

Holy hell.

At the 3 p.m. deadline, the Cavaliers completed two separate trades involving the Chicago Bulls and Seattle Supersonics.
The Cavs sent guards Larry Hughes and Shannon Brown and forwards Drew Gooden and Cedric Simmons to Chicago for center/forward Ben Wallace and forward Joe Smith. The Cavs then acquired guard/forward Wally Szczerbiak and guard Delonte West from Seattle for forwards Ira Newble and Donyell Marshall.

Good riddance to Larry "Mr. Glass" Hughes!

Shannon Brown who?

Oh, Drew. He was a beast, lightweight. That's a bit of a loss.

Cedric Simmons...? Was he a towel boy?

Ira Newble surprised me these last few games but he can kick rocks.

Donyell "Big Booty" Marshall. He had some good moments but...peace, homie!

OOOOHHHHHHHHH I am so excited!!!! Big Ben?! WHAT?! I think it'll take a while for things to mesh but I'm glad we made these moves. Would have been sweet as hell to get Jason Kidd but I knew that wasn't gonna happen.

LET'S GO CAVS!!!!!

Does Hip-Hop Love Us?

I had the intention of posting something ENTIRELY different today but although this happened last night...I still feel very unsettled about it.

Because I transferred from a inner-city university to a suburban university, I don't really see too many Black faces on campus. It's not an issue. I don't feel any kind of way about being surrounded by White people. "We" are only 2 deep here in my office. We're all just co-workers.
On the first day of this class I'm taking on Tuesday evenings, I noticed that I was the only brown face in the room. It wasn't the first time this has happened and I'm sure it won't be the last. Again, it really wasn't an issue.
This class is about different cultures and views of humanity. It has been really interesting so far and I have actually learned a lot.

Yesterday, though...whew.

We briefly discussed the papers we had just turned in and watched a short internet clip on what country was considered the happiest in the world. (Denmark).

Afterwards, the Prof. asked how many of us in the class listened to hip-hop. I felt a knot in my stomach. Why...I don't know. I and about 3 other people raised our hands. He then told us we were going to watch a documentary about hip-hop. He warned us that the language would be vulgar.

No kidding. Imagine being Black and sitting in a classroom full of White people and every 4th word is nigga this and nigga that. I didn't realize how tightly I had my hands clasped until the doc. was over.
All in all, it was your basic doc. about hip-hop. Why rappers feel the need to have the video "models", why they feel the need to have the jewelry and the cars and the money. The gangsta posturing and homo-eroticism. The misogynistic lyrics and denigration of women. Oh...the lyrics. I cringed every time I heard nigga, pussy, faggot, bitch, hoe...it was really the most uncomfortable I have been in a long time.
The director went to a recent BET Spring Bling to tape. We saw women walking around in bikini tops and panties (basically). We saw Black men being interviewed saying that these women were bitches and hoes just on the strength of how they were dressed. We saw Black men taking pictures of women's behinds and video-taping up their skirts and dresses. We saw Black men and women about to come to blows because the men felt that skimpy clothing gives them a pass to touch women wherever, however, whenever.
At one point, the director encountered a young White man from Ohio who was blasting hip-hop music in his truck. When asked how he felt about hip-hop music and lyrics, he commented and called Black people "colored". I groaned. Loudly. The prof. looked at me and so did several other classmates. Are we still at this place? Colored? Really?

They showed various parts of Nelly's "Tip Drill" video. I could barely watch. I've never seen the video but I've certainly heard about it. I am still really speechless about that. I felt nauseous when I heard whispers around the room. "Oh, wow." "Oh, my." "Jesus!" I was utterly embarassed.

The director asked a group of White college students how they felt about hip-hop. One young lady said that she grew up in upper middle class suburbia and watching BET and listening to hip-hop was the best way, in her opinion, to learn about Black culture. She said that she'd never experience "the hood" and how better to be able to see it than through music videos.
As foolish as that sounds, I know that seeing what the media portrays as "Black" is how other ethnic groups feel they come to know about our culture. Why is this still the norm in 2008?

The director interviewed various artists for this doc. The guys in The Clipse wouldn't even look him in the eye when he was asking questions about why they rap about the things they do. Busta Rhymes walked out the room when the topic came to homosexuality and why most all rappers consider calling another man a faggot one of the ultimate forms of disrespect. Mos Def and Jadakiss were in agreement about the fact that record labels don't promote conscious artists and in turn the radio doesn't play conscious artists and we all know that if it don't play on the radio, it don't sell.

*sigh* Why do I feel so...bad about this? Why should I feel embarassed and ashamed...like I was airing my dirty laundry in a classroom full of Whites? Why did I feel like all eyes were on me when the doc. ended? How did I all of a sudden become the voice of Black culture? Why did I feel this was the case?

Listen, I love hip-hop. Can you understand how much it is a part of my life, how deeply it's ingrained in the soul of almost every Black person I know? How many of you can remember how you felt the first time you heard LL Cool J's "I Need Love"?

When I'm alone in my room
Sometimes I stare at the wall
In the back of my mind
I hear my conscious call

Oh my God...De La Soul, Digable Planets, Jungle Brothers, Beastie Boys, Queen Latifah, MC Lyte, Grandmaster Flash...I could go on and on. All of that is ME.

Is it right to claim the good...and not the bad? Is it enough to decide to pass on buying the CD's of artists who want me to "bend over, let me see it" but bob my head if I happen to catch that song on the radio?

Damn. I love hip-hop. Does hip-hop love me?

My 100th Post

Since I won't be able to get away with not explaining D and Valentine's Day, I guess my 100th post will be about that. But would I have had anything prolific to say anyway? No! LOL!

I was supposed to go to class last night but I really wasn't on it. It had been a long day and I just wanted to relax before D and I went to dinner. I called him on the way home and he sounded panicked. He told me I should just go to class, I told him I didn't want to, he told me to go to class, I said no no no. So he told me to go over my parent's house and chill for a while. At that point, I knew he was planning something at the house so I played along. Luckily, my parents only live about 7 minutes from our house.

I went over there and was instantly attacked by the dog and my nephew. I took all kinds of random pictures and because I enjoy sharing...here they are:

Is taking a picture of a picture ghetto? LOL! This is me and my sis when we were in high school. She's the one with the longer hair.

This is my sis now. Thinking she's cute. LOL!

My nephew when he was a baby-baby. I know I'm his Auntie and all but that little dude has to be the cutest guy I have ever seen...in life!

Me and my nephew...now. This is an atrocious picture of me and the snatch back is a crime but it is what it is. LOL! Jalen was trying to give me the rabbit ears. Wrong fingers, son. LOL!

My parent's dog, Fancy. Short for Francesca. She's such a girl. Dressing up in little pink doggie clothes and getting ponytails put in her hair...she's into it.

So, let's move on. D calls me around 9:00ish and tells me to come home now. He told me to call when I'm walking up the stairs. I get home, park, I ring the buzzer so he can let me in. I was carrying that big ass vase of roses, plus my purse, my phone, my keys and the mail. I get to the our door and there's a sign on it that says HOUSE OF ASH. LOL! I hear spa music coming from inside. I'm cracking up but I open the door and go in.

Digression: I am NOT making up any part of this story. D's creativity is crazy sick and he will go all out when he has an idea. Not sure if I told you guys but there was one time he set up a treasure hunt for me at his apartment complete with tiny pink, red, and white paper hearts that he spent all night cutting out. Or when he did a "Legend's Ball" for his Mom's birthday. We all dressed up and we decorated the entire living room and they all recited poetry for her. He's nuts, man. LOL!

Anyway, I walk in and he's standing by the breakfast bar in all black. Black shirt, black tie, black slacks, black shoes. He has a leather folder and he comes over and takes my coat. He's talking in a horrible (T.E.R.R.I.B.L.E.) French accent. He welcomed me to the House of Ash...Where They Turn Ashy to Classy. He's looking in his leather folder (the appointment book? lol) and telling me that Mr. Johnson (D's last name LOL) has set up a House of Ash experience for me and that I would first be having dinner. He takes me to the dining room table and I sit down. Dinner was sushi (yummmm) and wine. It was so cute! He had the sushi on a rectangular plate and the soy sauce in a small bowl, the ginger on a tiny square plate and the wasabi in another small bowl. He took pictures of everything but those are on the camera at home. I'll upload em later. While I'm eating and drinking he goes into another room.

When I'm done, he comes back and takes me into the Blue Room (aka the office/2nd bedroom). I go in and the room is actually blue. He put a blue light bulb in. There's a robe and some flip flops and a magazine. He told me to get undressed, put on the robe and the flip flops and relax for a second. He said he'd be back for me. I'm trying to read the damn magazine but it's too dark so I just continue to drink my (3rd? 2nd?) glass of wine.
A few minutes go by and he's back. He takes me into the Spa Sanctuary (my bathroom). There are tea light candles set up all over the sink, he has a bubble bath drawn and there's a TV tray by the tub. There are pink and red heart-shaped imitation rose petals all over the floor. It was gorgeous. He takes my wine glass and puts it on the TV tray. I notice that he took his breathing machine and he has the tube blowing air into the water in the tub. Spa jets! (ctfu!!!!) While I'm getting in the tub, he goes back into the Blue Room and gets something out of the little fridge in there. He comes back with another rectangular plate full of mini-cheesecakes, tarts, and chocolate covered strawberries. There's also another small bowl of chocolates. He puts them on the TV tray.
I'm in the tub and he's using my loofah to wash me up. He's feeding me the yummy desserts and I'm working on my (4th? 5th?!) glass of wine. After we were done with that, he takes me out the tub and dries me off. I put the robe back on and we go to the Red Room (our bedroom) . Yup, there was a red light bulb in. There were more rose petals all over the floor and on the bed was a simple white sheet and the petals. There were red lights in our bedside lamps and tea lights on both nightstands.
He gave me a massage and it was wonderful. Very relaxing, I swear I almost fell asleep. Sooo...after that was done, we went into the living room and watched Lost. I was so relaxed (tipsy?) that I couldn't stay awake towards the end. He kept waking me up and when it went off, we just went to bed. It was a nice night and very unexpected.

Meet 'N Greet

I have had a crazy day and just had a random thought:

What would you guys think about having a meet n greet? We could all meet up in a city and kick it for a weekend.
As much as I hate it, I have really come to enjoy you losers and reading your blogs has become a part of my daily routine. I'd really dig meeting some of my blog fam.
The only person that I know in real life (lol) is Isis and that's cause she's one of my bestest homegirls.

Anywho, just throwing the thought out there. Whaddya think? Holla in the comments!

The Trip...

...was excellent. I had a really, really good time. Because I couldn't find a really cute black top that I liked, I went with the safe, cream look. I think I looked fab LOL!

I tried to take a picture of my whole outfit but I didn't wanna look like a complete crazy ass at the airport. So I took a pic of my jeans, boots and bag. LOL! Because I didn't wear black with this outfit, I had to find a bag that would go with the new look. The day before I left, I remembered that I had a light-colored Dooney & Bourke duffel bag (big enough for travel) and it had a camel-colored leather strap. It was perfect!

There's a new post at the other spot. Go check it out! http://businessgetyousome.blogspot.com

Grown Women vs. Girls

Got this in a forward today. Loved it so I decided to share. Enjoy!

Girls want to control the man in their life.
Grown Women know that if he's truly hers, he doesn't need controlling.

Girls yell at you for not calling them.
Grown Women are too busy to realize you hadn't.

Girls are afraid to be alone.
Grown Women revel in it-using it as a time for personal growth.

Girls ignore the good guys.
Grown Women ignore the bad guys.

Girls make you come home.
Grown Women make you want to come home.

Girls leave their schedule wide-open and wait for a guy to call and make plans.
Grown Women make their own plans and nicely tell the guy to get in where he fits.

Girls worry about not being pretty and/or good enough for their man.
Grown Women know that they are pretty and/or good enough for any man.

Girls try to monopolize all their man's time (i.e., don't want him hanging with his friends).
Grown Women realize that a lil' bit of space makes the 'together time' even more special-and goes out with her own friends

Girls think a guy crying is weak.
Grown Women offer their shoulder and a tissue.

Girls want to be spoiled and 'tell' their man so.
Grown Women 'show' him and make him comfortable enough to reciprocate without fear of losing his 'manhood'.

Girls get hurt by one man and make all men pay for it.
Grown Women know that was just one man.

Girls fall in love and chase aimlessly after the object of their affection, ignoring all 'signs'.
Grown Women know that sometimes the ones you love don't always love you back and move on without bitterness.

Girls will read this and get an attitude.
Grown Women will read this and pass it on to other Grown women.

Blog in my Comments

In the spirit of something different and creative (I think), I have decided to direct questions to each of my regular blog readers and have them answer in my comments. People tend to blog in your comments anyway, so now I'm gonna give yall nakkas a reason to. Of course, you don't have to answer the question I ask. But I might call yo ass a punk if you don't. It's all love. LOL!
Let's go:

E: If you could change 10 things about your boyfriend, what would they be?

SBC: If you had the chance to plan your dream wedding, what would it be like?

Millz: Build your perfect man. What is he like?

Diva: You have to save the first man that ever hurt you or a chick who was your best friend but you can't stand now. Who do you save and why?

Tash: The friend/baby situation ceases to exist. What do you now do differently?

Don: One of your daughters is 17. Some knucklehead she's dating is dogging her. What do you say to her to give her the strength to let go?

Ms. B: Name some of the things that made you fall in love with your man.

Mahogany: You have the chance to say whatever is on your mind to the first man that broke your heart. What would you say?

Neill: Describe the person you think your daughter will be 15 years from now.

Nik: You just had the BOMB night of "doing it and doing it and doing it well". What went down?

Sha-Boog: You and Snap have a baby. (LOL!) What qualities from you and from Snap would make the "perfect" child?

Jen: My's dad is back in your life and somehow he's PERFECT. What changed about him?

Tam: You overhear TBM tell your hubby that she wants to try it again with him. What do you say to this chick to put her in her place?

Thicky Thic: How did you propose to your wife?

Have fun!!!!!
