Different Style

I'll be going on a quick overnight trip to D.C. early next month and I have been looking for an outfit to wear on the plane that can be worn out to eat right after I land. I wanted something slightly trendy but still classic. My D.C. friends are some straight fashionistas so I have to be on my game when I go visit.

I've been surfing a few websites. Nothing was really catching my eye. Until I see Lauren Conrad (Diva and Ms. Behaving KNOW who she is! LOL!) in a picture taken at LAX airport. I love everything about this outfit.

I know most people will see tannish brown boots with black and think ew. But I think that shit is soooo super cute! It's such an expected twist on what could have been a blah, boring outfit. I think the patent bag with gold hardware goes really well with this look too.

I have almost finished recreating this look. First I found that the boots are by Miss Sixty and they are called "Bliss". Round toe, stacked heel, 100% leather. They are sold out EVERYWHERE. I even looked on eBay and the only pair on there are not my size. I found this pair by Circa Joan & David called "Briggs" on zappos.com:

The Miss Sixty pair are about $125 and these are $165 (original price $203.95). The look is similar and the color is almost an exact match. I read the reviews and they seem to be of good quality. Zappos has free shipping and free return shipping so...I ordered them. The only thing I'm worried about is, of course, the fit and also that they won't have that slouching effect that Lauren's boots have. I sent an email to the Miss Sixty website asking if I could order the Bliss pair. If I can, I'll send the Briggs pair back. We'll see.

Because I'll be landing at DCA and not LAX, I'll wear a cute black sweater instead of the jersey knit top that Lauren has on. Today, I found a cute, fitted black coat at Filene's Basement. It's by Kenneth Cole and it was an additional 25% off. I paid $40.00 for it. That made my day!!!

I'm on the fence about Lauren's hat. That might be a bit too Valley girlish for me so I might skip that part of the outfit. However, my hair will be done. LOL! My ladies know that cute hair can make an outfit!

Lauren's bag is by Treesje and it's over $600.00. Uhh...nuh. I'm still looking for something similiar but I do want a big black bag and I do want it to have the gold hardware. I think the gold will tie in with the brown in the boots.

I think I can find skinny jeans pretty much anywhere. I just have to look for some. I had a pair of dark wash DKNY jeans that weren't "skinny" per se, but they made the booty look FANTASTIC and they were perfect tucked into my boots. I cannot for the life of me figure out what happened to them. I think my sister did her usual thing...took them to never be seen again. I swear her closet eats clothes.

My Dream

So, I had a pretty vivid dream last night. It was crazy and completely random but I woke up feeling good. LOL! Here's what happened:

I was an employee of Quicken Loans Arena...which is where the Cavs play. It was before a game. I was one of those kids who cleans up the sweat, debris and other gross shit from the floors with that big circular mop. I don't know why I was cleaning when the game hadn't even started but...I was.

LeBron and Daniel "Boobie" Gibson were sitting on the bench talking and joking around. I noticed Boobie kept glancing at me and smiling. Now, you all know that LeBron is my husband (in my head) and the love of my life. But...I was kinda feeling the glances from Boobie. He's not as hot as my baby

but...he does have a nice smile!

Anyway, he keeps glancing and smiling. I keep cleaning, trying to be a good employee. D is in the stands. He's there to see the game but I got the feeling we were there together. Somehow. LOL! So, I try to be sly while glancing back at Boobie.

I hear Boobie say that he needs a piece of paper. LeBron looks at me (*melt*) and says, "Excuse me, do you have a sheet of paper?" I pull a sheet of paper from somewhere (who the hell knows where it came from!) and give it to LeBron. He gives it to Boobie and Boobie writes his cell phone, house phone and house address on it. He gives it to me and says, "I noticed you and wondered if I could take you out sometime. I'm not from here (He's a Texan) and I need some nice people to chill with". I take the sheet of paper, all the while trying to make sure D doesn't see this exchange (why????) and I get back to work.

I guess later I call Boobie and we go on a date. He's a complete gentleman and we have a nice time. I wake up soon after that.

The Bucket List

I saw this movie the other day. It was cute. Had some funny parts and a part or two that had me tearing up a bit.
For all you lazy mofos who don't want to go and find out what the movie is about, here's the premise:

Corprate billionaire Edward Cole and working class mechanic Carter Chambers have nothing in common except for their terminal illnesses. While sharing a hospital room together, they decide to leave it and do all the things they have ever wanted to do before they die according to their bucket list. In the process, both of them heal each other, become unlikely friends, and ultimately find the joy in life.

Some examples of the items on their list were driving a Shelby Mustang (DROOL!!!!), bungee jumping, seeing something majestic, etc.

I have seen that commercial fifty-'leven times. I am at home off on this wonderful holiday. That combo equals me going to eHarmony to do the personality profile. LOL! I wanted to see just how accurate they could get. Here's Monie in a not-so-small nutshell:

Yall should thank TomGurl because I would not even be thinking about posting right now. I am just sooooooooo...mentally exhausted. I'll work through it, I always do. But between work, now school, my home life, just...everything. I am just about ready to walk my ass to Jamaica and sit down on a beach somewhere and just NOT THINK.

Classes started for me yesterday. I have 3 this semester. I think my prof. has ADHD. For real. This dude would not stop...moving. Sorta like Chris Brown.

I am finally rid of my previous POS phone and now have the...VOYAGER!

I wish the name could be in shimmery text...that's just how fuckin sweet this phone is. The touch screen is bananas. And the camera is the clearest I have ever had in a phone. My corkboard in my office:

Uh, I fucked up some setting cause that looks a tad bit fuzzy (LMAO!) but yall get what I'm trying to give you. The pictures are -usually - SUPER clear.

I am starved but nothing is appealing to my taste buds right now. Plus, I have nothing to eat here and I'm feeling too lazy to walk across the street to get something.

My taxes are done! Are yours?! I'm getting back a nice lil sumthin. I am spending some to get the Invisalign and whitening that I have been wanting for over a year. I'll be a good girl and use the rest for bills and savings. And FYI, my teeth are not fucked up. LOL! I have two small gaps in the top front and one overzealous little mofo in the bottom front. My dentist said I'd probably only need to wear the tray for 6 months to a year. And I want whitening because my sister got it done and her teeth look great!
