Delayed Part 2

What's going on?

Ok, so I was supposed to be writing part 2 today but I'm at home sick. This nastiness coming out of my nose right now can't be good so I figured I'd do everyone at work a favor by not spreading the love.

COUGH COUGH! SNIFFLE!

Argh, this shit is bogus. Anyway, I'll definitely do part 2 tomorrow. Right now, it's back to the couch with my blanket, some tea, and the remote. I have a ton of shows I need to catch up on. I'm done with The Hills, now it's time for Oprah.

Hasta manana!

Weekend Conversations

Hello, beautiful people. What's the deal?

I know I'm late with the weekend post but I didn't get back into town until about 8pm last night. The weekend was eventful to say the least. Let's do a fun recap:

Ash and I were supposed to leave here around 3 or 4 but we didn't actually leave until about 6:30. Cleveland to VA Beach is an 8 hour drive. You do the math.
Most of our driving was done at night. I'm a beast on the road but driving through the mountains and shit is really not the business. Not at all.

"Dude, what the fuck is this?! I can't see shit!"
-Monie to Ash when driving through the thickest fog ever in the life of fogs.

"GOT ME LOOKING SO CRAZY RIGHT NOW, YOUR LOVE GOT ME LOOKING SO CRAZY RIGHT NOW!"
-Monie and Ash singing Beyonce at the top of our lungs after getting through the immense fog.

"AGHGHGHGHGHGHGGGHHHHHHHH!"
-Monie and Ash screaming at the top of our lungs after trying to make an exit, sliding in the rain, doing a large spin out...2 times...and stopping inches from an ditch.

Yeah...that really happened. It started raining as soon as we got out of Pennsylvania and didn't stop until the next day. Luckily, we were the only cars on the road at this time (it was early morning). A semi was traveling a good distance behind us and he stopped to make sure we were okay. We were fine. Hands shaking like crackheads but fine. He told us that trucks jack-knifed on at that same spot all the time and that we should be careful. I told him thanks. He said don't thank him, thank Jesus. He was right but I really meant thanks for stopping to check on us. Me and Ash said a little prayer and kept it moving.

"See you in the morning. No raw-dogging!"
-Monie to Ash after dropping her off for the night at her friend's house in Hampton before he went out of town later that weekend.

"I'll find you. No worries. Be there in a minute."
-Monie to Smurf after dropping Ash off. He was worried I wouldn't be able to find their apartment. I reassured him that the Navigator on my phone (beastin!) would get me there. I get lost backing out of my parent's driveway so I use my Navi frequently.

We have been cool with the guys we were going to visit for a while now. We knew them when they were art students in PA. They all now live and work in VA designing clothing lines. There's Smurf, Shan and Richard. When I arrived everyone was sleep except Smurf. He waited up for me to get there. It was about 2:30 am. We stayed up a little longer, talking, laughing, catching up. This was Friday morning. They all had to get up to go to work in a few hours. Yet, Smurf and I didn't pass out until about 5 am.

"No partying, man."
-Smurf to Monie before he and Shan left to go to work. They left me a house key so I could go and pick up Ash from Hampton.

I scooped Ash up, we went to 'Bucks and got some overpriced coffee and went back to the boy's house. We chilled until about 11:30 and then met them at the food court in the mall (LynnHaven?) where they were for their lunch break.

"RICHARDDDDDDDDDDDDD!!!!!"
-Monie and Ash tackling Richard when he walked up to the table we were all sitting at. I didn't see him before he went to work and Ash was just seeing all the boys since our arrival. We love Rich because he's funny as HELL. We love all the boys but Rich is ridiculously hilarious.
(Blogger has gay fever [copyright Karrie B] so I can't post a pic here. I'll do it when I get home.)

We chilled with the boys for their lunch break, met some of their coworkers. After they left, Ash and I did some shopping to find outfits for the Erro show in Baltimore. I had jeans but I got a top from H&M. Same for Ash. After we left the mall we got on the road to Bmore.

"OhhhhhhhmyyyyyyGawwdddddddd!!!! Are you serious right now?!"
-Monie in regards to the hellicious traffic we got stuck in driving from VA Beach to Baltimore. Right around D.C. it got extra stupid. I was ready to kill somebody.

Too many hours later, we get to Bmore. Ash knows one of Erro's background singers, D.Mo Soul. I call him D. Moted. It's just funnier. At least to me. He was at the Sheraton so we met him there. He got Ash and I a room for the night. We were running late (thanks, traffic) so we got to our room, ordered some food, hopped in the shower, got dressed, ate, and peaced out. Erro was about to go on stage as we were pulling up. One problem. D. Moted was in the car with us. As soon as we pulled up, he hopped out, ran into the venue. Ash and I parked and by the time we got in, they had already started their first song. The show was great. Erro did a freestyle using words that people in the audience gave him. They were on for about an hour and then Lyfe Jennings came out. Beh. We weren't there to see him so we went posted up at the bar. The guys in Erro's band came out and chilled with us. We had a shit load of fun with them. We left at about 12:30 am. On the drive back to the hotel, D. Moted sang to me and Ash. Did yall know about my weak spot for men who can sing? No? Well yeah...it was great. His voice is unbelievable.

The next morning, we got up and checked out at noon. We stopped at Cracker Barrel to eat and then took D. Moted to the airport. After dropping him off were got on our merry way back to VA Beach. We were on New York Ave. for what seemed like forever so Ash and I took pictures and video of people on the street. It was hilarious.

We got to VA Beach around 6ish and brought our bags in. All the boys were there, chilling, waiting for us to arrive.

"Where's the alcohol?"
-Monie and Ash as soon as they walked in the door.

"What are those? Football pants?!
-Smurf and Richard in regards to Monie's cropped sweatpants.

"I win!"
-Ash to Monie in regards to a bet between them. When we visit the boys, we cook for them and we might even clean for them. LOL! I don't know how that got started but it's just what we do. We had a bet to see who would ask first what we were going to cook for them. Shan asked first. I thought Smurf would.

We sat around for a while, watching Bronson movies. The commentary was hilarious. Those dudes are funny as hell. We have our own little language and code words that makes regular conversations past ridiculous. Soon after that, the bottles got cracked and the drinks started flowing. Rich's girlfriend came over and brought two of her friends. Shan's chick came over as well.

"Buzz! 8, 9, 10, Buzz!"
-Monie, Ash, Richard, Shan and Yaz playing some retarded ass drinking game that had me pretty faded. You go around in a circle saying numbers in order. If it's your turn and you get the number 7 or any multiple of 7 or any number with double digits you have to say Buzz instead of the number. If you mess up, you have to start over from 1. I don't think we ever made it past 35.

We were gonna go out to Granby (?) Street to kick it but nobody was trying to get dressed. We got some food and continued to kick it at the apartment. We all eventually passed out. I don't remember the time or under what conditions. LOL!

The next morning we woke up and sat around for a while. I think everybody was hurting a little bit. Somehow, someway, we got video and pictures from the night before. Hilarity ensued as we watched the video from the numbers game and Shan's chick get so completely wasted that she fell backwards into his TV, landed in some weird gymnastics position and eventually slept with his Playstation as her pillow.

A couple hours later, we went to Pocahontas for breakfast. The food was great and we could see the beach from our table. It started to drizzle but Ash and I still wanted to go and take pictures of the beach.

"You gotta be high as hell ALL the time to be good at this shit. He was probably high when he recorded this song. That's why he's about to start screaming. See! High! Smells Like Teen Spirit. What is that?! That's called HIGH!
-Richard on why Kurt Cobain was a beast.

"Alright, yo, that's the beach. Take ya pictures. Let's go, man, it's raining. You got $100 for my hat?"
-Smurf protesting to Ash and Monie.

We left the beach and went back to the apartment. Smurf accompanied me and Ash to the grocery store to get ingredients for roasted vegetable lasagna. Smurf and Shan are calling themselves vegetarians this month so we had to make something without any meat.
We got back and Ash and I started cooking. We cut up eggplant, zucchini, red peppers and mushrooms. We combined olive oil and garlic and brushed that over all the veggies. We added salt and pepper and threw them in the oven.
Now, when the boys lived in PA, they had a huge apartment but it was like hell on earth. They were college students so they sometimes had heat, sometimes had hot water. LOL! The place they live in now is MUCH better. They have dishes. A vacuum. A couch. LOL! They're doing good. But...their oven is WEAK AS HELL!

Tell me why it took us HOURS to roast these vegetables!!!! The oven was barely getting warm!
Smurf and I took a ride to the pet store so he could get crickets for his lizard thing and when we got back the veggies STILL weren't done. At that point they had been roasting for about 2.5 hours. Ridiculous.
After they were done, we built the lasagna and tossed it back in the lukewarm ass oven. Every time we checked on it, it was barely cooking, it was watery. I was scared we wouldn't be able to serve it.

"Yo, how did that happen?"
-Smurf to Ash and Monie when we pulled out our yummy, cheesy, well-done lasagna. Somehow the shit worked out.

"*crickets*"
-What was heard as the boys ate. Literally. It wasn't just silence. We actually heard those damn crickets fighting for their lives from Smurf's bedroom. They didn't stand a chance.

"That shit was banging. Is there some more?"
-Compliments to the chefs.

"Zzzzzzz..."
The 'itis.

By the time we got done eating and woke up it was around 8:30 pm. Again, an 8 hour drive ahead of us. It was stupid for us to try and cook lasagna that late. LOL!
The boys helped us take our bags out. Hugs all around. We left. Went to WaWa to get some extra-strong coffee. Got a call from Smurf that Ash left her sunglasses. We went back, picked them up and got to Independence Boulevard to get onto 264 W.

"AAAGHGHGHGHGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH OHHHH MY GODDDDDDD...BOOM!"
-Ash and Monie screaming...and getting into a car accident.

I'm gonna do a Rah and end this here. Part 2 tomorrow. Pictures as soon as I can get em on here.

Early Weekend

What's up punks?

I wanted to do a quick post before I leave for the day. I am getting my weekend started early. I'm leaving at noon, going to get the wig busted and then me and Ash are getting on the road to go to Virginia Beach. This is the broad to do a road trip with...it's gonna be majorly fun.

We'll be in Baltimore Friday night for an Eric Roberson concert and then back in Virginia Beach until Sunday.

Neither one of us wanted to drive our cars all that way so I rented a G6. That's a sexy little car. It's fast too. I tested it out on the drive to work. LOL!

I hope you all have a great weekend. Eat, drink and be merry. I will be!

Stupid

I picked up a Southwest Chicken wrap on the way home from class, right? D is playing video games so I wanted to get online and check a few blogs while he finishes up.

I'm reading, ready to dig into this wrap cause I'm on refugee status right now.

I take a bite. Mmmm...it's spicy. Yum. Keep chewing.

Damn, this tortilla is kinda dry. Keep chewing.

Man...what the hell is going on?!

I turn on the light and find...

I'm eating the paper the wrap is wrapped in. Fuck.

LOL! Unwrap. Then eat.

*whimper*

This is the FINENESS that is Chris Paul:

*sigh* He would SO get it.

That is all.

If I Ruled the Blog World - Making the Blog Homework

For those who aren't privy to what the hell I'm referring to in this post, please see Rashan's link on my blogroll and peep the ridiculousness of what I have to do. LOL!

Ok, here we go. If I ruled the blog world, here is how it would be:

1) Once a month, every blogger would have to do a video post of a weekend day in the life of themselves. From waking to laying their head down at night.

2) Every blogger would have to contribute $100 to the Monie and TomGurl to NY fund.

3) Once every 6 months, THE karrie b would act as my personal stylist. We would have unlimited funds and be able to travel anywhere to shop.

4) I would have the authority to inspect the "packages" of certain male bloggers to see if they are liars or not.

5) Eclectik would show his face. Heh.

6) Once a year, we would have a big blogger blow out bash on an exotic island.

7) At my discretion, Rah would show up to my house with pizza and tequila. We'd eat, drink, watch a game and then he'd go home. LMAOOOOOOOOOOO!

8) I would be able to speak Spanish fluently. And adopt a British accent. And speak Spanish with a British accent.

9) Gas prices would go back to 99 cents a gallon. This $3 shit is ridiculous!!!!

10) And finally, if I ruled the Blog World, I would never have to do a post like this again. It made my head hurt.

Randumb

I'm still trying to get my thoughts together for my Making the Blog homework so here's some dumb shit to tide yall over.

I have been lying to you guys. Tash (Isis) is not the only blogger that I know in real life. I didn't forget about this guy but I found this picture and realized that duh...I have him in my blogroll and we've known each other for a loooong, looooong time. You can probably tell how long looking at how young I am in this pic.

That's me and Leon (Listen to Leon) at Jillian's in D.C.

I am biting the bullet and getting contacts. By the time most of you read this, I'll be at my optometrist's office trying to put a tiny piece of plastic on my eyeball. *sigh*

My mom has tinted windows on her truck. She also has a custom grill (on the truck - not in her mouth). Who is this woman?

My brother has a pit named Nyla. That damn dog is strong as hell. I tried to walk her and she ended up walking me.

I want an iPod Touch really, really bad. It will be mine.

My sister is on the Dean's List at school. I am crazy proud of her.

I want a dog. A little brown, furry thing that I can name Cocoa Puff.

Last week, I did something really dumb. In a rush, I got some money out of the ATM and left my card in it. Didn't realize until hours later when I attempted to pay for shampoo and conditioner and my card wasn't in my wallet. Thankfully, no one went on a mass shopping spree with my card. That was the first time I have ever done that. Which is kinda surprising because I can sometimes be absent-minded.

12 classes until graduation. Wow.Wow.Wow.Wowwwwwwww!

"This Is What It Feels Like" by Day 26. Hot as fuck.

Lace panties, silky hair, soft skin...it's great being a woman.

My gas bill is RIDICULOUS.

I couldn't enjoy my balcony this past summer because there's a beehive in the ceiling. Bees every-fucking-where. I've only been stung by a bee once but that one time was enough.

I somehow came across a copy of the book, "How to Love A Black Woman". LOL Anyway, there's a part in there about how women love when a man uses her actual name to address her. As weird as it is...I think this is so true. There's nothing like a man saying in his deep, sexy voice..."Monica, come here". Whew! I don't mind the pet names but how many other chicks have you called baby, honey, mami, or freak?

To celebrate the Cleveland.Indians home opener, we are having a cookout at work. A few of the guys here also bought Nerf guns and we running around shooting each other, ducking behind cubicles. LOL! Today...I think I'll enjoy being at work.

Gotta do payroll now. Holla!
